Back wrapped canvas with the sides painted ebony black.

Soft supple blending. A cross between wet into wet and dry brushing.

Pure pigment colors where applied directly to the raw primed canvas

and blended and tonal values created there.

A bit different approach for artisan Dapore.

Though he works in many styles, most are experimental.

The silhouette tree is a thick application of paint that is raised or

bumped up on the canvas adding an additional point of interest.

set a mellow feel for the branch of the cherry tree.

Roaming hills are overlapped by the cherry blossom.

The painting is a acrylic on three separate canvases.

A distinctly unique painting approach. Wet blending mixed with dry brushing creates the signature style of Dapore art. The flowers are a thick application of paint which raises from the canvas which adds appeal and impact to the main subject. The back ground has rich full strength colors which are softened with a mixture of soft pastels. Tube colors are applied directly to the canvas and mixed directly on the cotton support. Creating continuity of the coloration. Notice how the works palette has a harmony. The base is finished picking up areas of the wet canvases paint and placing long single brush strokes. Theo at 55 years of age has developed a breathing control which reduces the artist heart rate. Please study the close up view to see how fluid and precious the large single brush strokes are. No shake or jitter, supreme control in a one movement execution.

Life or Death, But who decides? Propagation, From where derived? So many winters, I've slept away. But to awaken, That spring day. Though not this time, Begin my fears. I wish I could, Reclaim my years. I once was strong, The bell has tolled. I once was young, But now am old. In this land, No seeds are sown. All my children, Now are gone.
