The safari section which is outside of the safari room.

The wall color is desert sand.  A small amount of the color was incorporated into the other wall colors to harmonize

the colors together. The light color has also created a soft pastel blend which allows the brighter and full value sculpted

hut and Giraffe to be more predominant.

The hand cut lettering on the door “Wild” was cut and designed by my Granddaughter Alex or excuse me Alexandria  as she now prefers to be called. Shes now 15 years old you know. It was nice to have her with me for a day. Cutting the Styrofoam is no easy task which takes a lot of control and composure. I’m so proud of her.

The hut tops where created by heating and bending 1/2 inch Styrofoam. It I thought would make that section of the project simpler. This was the hardest piece of the whole project.(And there where two hut tops?

The main element in the Safari section is a eight foot tall Giraffe.

The body was carved and formed from one inch material.

The Giraffe head which is attached to one inch material protrudes from the wall about six inches. It was carved with razor

knives and sanding blocks. The head was built up using one and two material glued and held together with bamboo skewers.
