Acrylic artist colors may be thinned in a water solution to create effects similar to that of water colors.  Here is a example of a wet into wet painting done by artist Theo Dapore.The sky used liquid acrylic in a water solution. The solution thickens the water and adds more body to the mix. In the foreground acrylic and a thickening agent created a light impasto.
